Thank you for buying tickets for the first
Thin Green Line Festival and supporting the work of
The Thin Green Line Foundation around the globe.

You’ll see the price of one Adult ticket will support
the family of a ranger killed in the line of duty for
one month.

One child’s ticket helps buy a solar cooker which
will reduce the need for poaching wood in the
forest by 80% in some areas, thus reducing conflicts
and protecting the environment.

So, your ticket is much more than a passport to a
great festival ... it’s making a difference.

You must be a great person because you’re
coming to the festival, but here are some points
for you to consider to help make the event run in
the best possible way for all the punters and the
environment.

Every aspect of the festival is designed to be
environmentally responsible and the festival is
carbon positive – meaning a greater amount of
carbon will be offset than the festival produces.

To help us achieve this we encourage you to catch
the train, walk, ride or catch the shuttle bus to
the event. The shuttle bus runs from Bittern Station
meeting all trains and will stop at Point Leo,
Shoreham, Balnarring Beach, Somers Camping
grounds with a stop at Balnarring Shopping Centre
where ATMs are available.

The shuttle bus is free.

The parking fee onsite is $10 per car or reduced to
only $2 if you have 3 or more people in your vehicle.

Where possible food and alcohol are produced
with sustainable practices and an emphasis on
organic and fair trade practices. So, you’ll be able
to enjoy a variety of world foods, local beers and
fine wine.

Chilled water will be available onsite at no cost
... so bring a water bottle. Fruit cordial will also be available for kids for free. Also bring sunscreen,
hats, and warm clothing for the evening

Please remember this is a fundraising festival and
we ask you help us by observing the following:
• No BYO alcohol or food
• No glass
• No chairs – bring a blanket for the roped-off
blanket area (first in, best dressed here!)

Gates open at 10am and close at 9pm – first act on at 11am.

Coolart will be fenced for the event and entry is only available at the front entrance off Lord Somers Rd and the beach track for those coming by foot from Balnarring and Somers.

All other entry points will be closed.
Please observe this to ensure we can run the festival
again next year.

**Those who get there before 10.30am will receive
20% discounts on all Thin Green Line sustainable
merchandise and priority access to the blanket
areas and entry for guest-speakers and movies
showing in the theatrette.

FILMS SHOWING

The Thin Green Line - International Ranger Documentary
In some of the world's most breathtaking protected areas, share this behind the scenes, unique and very personal view of men and women of The Thin Green Line as they talk to one of their own. You'll experience their world as a ranger talking to rangers, all of whom are also husbands, wives, mothers, fathers - and it's never a 9 to 5 job.
Go side-by-side on patrol; experience their sacrifice, dedication, passion, fears, joys, exhilaration, love, despair, anguish, camaraderie ... and hope.
This is an Access All Areas pass - you'll go off t he tourist trail to ride with the guardians of the world's protected natural gems as they encounter elephant charges in South Africa, walk with armed patrols defending the Mountain Gorillas of Central Africa, hang from helicopter high above the Rockies to pluck an injured hiker to safety.

THE DAY AFTER PEACE
The Day After Peace charts the remarkable 10-year journey of award-winning filmmaker Jeremy Gilley to establish an annual Peace Day on 21 September. The camera follows Gilley as he galvanises the countries of the world to recognise an official day of ceasefire and non-violence.
But even after the member states of the UN unanimously adopt Peace Day, the struggle isn’t over. As the years pass, there’s not a single ceasefire. The voices of the cynics are growing louder – and now Gilley’s non-profit organisation, Peace One Day, is in dire financial straits. But he can’t let it fail.
The film’s breathtaking conclusion finds Gilley joined by Jude Law in Afghanistan, attempting to spearhead a massive vaccination against polio on Peace Day. Will peace prevail? Will lives be saved? Or were the cynics right?
The Day After Peace is a moving testament to the power of an individual and the perseverance of the human spirit.

A SPEACH BY ROBERT F KEENDY JUNIOR
One of the most inspirational speeches from one of the worlds most well known political families.
RFK JNr tells of the River Keepers, working class men and women who managed to sue some of the worlds biggest corporations and start a world movement to protect rivers and our collective wealth the environment

Muyingarbi AND Introduction and Questions by Tom E Lewis
In May 2007, Tom E. Lewis invited four senior Aboriginal Songmen from Arnhem Land to explore the place of the ancient in the modern through their music. Recording with legendary guitarist Ross Hannaford, the Songmen experimented with a musical exchange that might reflect the possibilities of the dual worlds they now occupy. The result is the CD Muygnarnbi – Songs from Walking with Spirits profiled in this documentary.
