New Year’S Eve 2007
December 2007
On New Year’s Eve fellow Thin Green Line Director Phil Wise and myself Sean Willmore were lucky enough to attend the showing of our film at Falls Festival In Tasmania. Featuring some of Australia’s premiere musicians, Falls festival also showcased a number of films, which were also shown at the Lorne, Victoria festival venue.
The film was shown on each day of the festival and Phil and I had the opportunity to present copies of the Thin Green Line to some of our new supporters including: Paul Kelly, The Waifs, Kev Carmody, Claire Bowditch and long time friend Wally De Backer aka ‘Goyte’. In fact Goyte, announced to the 10,000 + audience that they should check out the film and get behind it. Paul Kelly also said he would get a nice bottle of red and watch the film to bring in the New Year. Hopefully we’ll be lucky enough to gain the support of some of these fine musicians at our upcoming Groove It for the Green Line festival fundraiser, early in 2009,on the Mornington Peninsula near Melbourne (stay tuned for details) … along with worldwide gigs on the same day.
