Ways to give

Thin Green Line works with rangers, ranger organisations, community enterprises, and environmental NGOs to improve the livelihoods and working conditions of rangers, their families, and their communities around the world.

Through this work we increase community engagement in conservation, promote Indigenous and local knowledge within land management, improve the rights and recognition of rangers, and support conservation programs worldwide.

We provide tailored support that improves the day-to-day work of rangers around the world. We also initiate and invest in game-changing programs that achieve wide-reaching impact for ranger operations and community conservation.

Donations

Your donations directly support rangers, their families, and communities. All donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible in Australia.

Donations

Thin Green Line believes that rangers are the key to global conservation.

We value their knowledge and experience and work to support them as nature’s protectors. With the help of our supporters, Thin Green Line provides critical professional training, equipment, and emergency support to rangers, their families, and communities. Giving monthly – even the smallest amount – ensures consistent funding for Thin Green Line to continue its mission.

Gift in will

A bequest is one of the most effective and important ways to help ensure rangers are supported in their roles as nature’s frontline professionals.

Every bequest we receive – whether big or small – allows us to plan ahead and keep our focus on our long-term vision of protecting our natural world and climate future through the work of rangers.

Thin Green Line has partnered with Gathered Here, Australia’s #1 online will-writing service. Leaving a gift of just one per cent will help us to support and champion rangers as the crucial frontline of conservation around the world. Create your free will now with Gathered Here.

Writing your will is incredibly important. It protects your family and loved ones, and ensures that your estate is divided according to your wishes. We always recommend that you seek independent legal advice when drafting your will.

If you’re considering leaving a legacy gift to Thin Green Line and would like more information, please contact us. You can also view and download our bequest information sheet.

Workplace and Payroll Giving

Workplace giving (also known as payroll giving) is a simple, tax-effective way for you to support the work of Thin Green Line.

How does it work?

  • Workplace giving allows you to donate a portion of your pre-tax salary to Thin Green Line through your employer’s payroll system.
  • Your chosen donation is deducted from your pre-tax salary each pay cycle.
  • Your generous donation is passed onto Thin Green Line by your employer.
  • You will receive a tax benefit each pay cycle.
  • There’s no need for you to keep donation receipts – it’s all recorded by your employer.
  • Some employers choose to match employee donations. Why not have a conversation with your payroll officer or HR department to see how your workplace can be involved?
  • You can change the amount, or cancel your donations, at any time. There are no lock-in contracts.

How to sign up

Speak with your payroll officer or HR department about setting up your workplace giving arrangement. If your workplace does not have an existing Workplace Giving program, they can use a third-party platform (such as Good2Give, Goodcompany, or Benevity) or submit the payments directly via bank transfer. Contact us for the details.

You can view and download our Workplace Giving information sheet here.

If you – or your employer – have any questions about Workplace Giving, please contact us at [email protected] or call (03) 8592 7947.

Corporate Partnerships

Thin Green Line is a unique not-for-profit with well-established and productive connections to conservation managers and decision-makers across the world.

We work very closely with an extensive international network of wildlife and park ranger teams and associations to protect diverse ecosystems and endangered species.

Over many years, the Foundation has gained an outstanding reputation for its direct support of essential field work in protected areas and its advocacy of the critical importance of rangers’ work to mitigate the climate emergency.

While most of our supporters are based in Australia, we are also very proud to be backed by committed donors based in North America, Europe, and the UK.

Solving complex global problems such as biodiversity loss, wildlife poaching, and climate change, requires cross-sector commitment and expertise. If your organisation would like to work alongside Thin Green Line, please contact us at [email protected].
