Privacy Collection Notice

The Thin Green Line Foundation Ltd (ABN 22 126 573 779) (“TGL”, “us”, “our” or “we) value your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with our obligations under the Privacy Act 1998 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

This notice outlines how we collect, use, and deal with your data. We take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold about you against loss and unauthorised access, use, modification or disclosure.

1.  PERSONAL INFORMATION

We may collect the following personal information:

(a)          name;

(b)          address;

(c)           telephone or mobile number;

(d)          email address;

(e)          billing information;

(f)            technical information such as browser type, device type, language and operating systems, web pages visited, IP address;

(g)          proof of marriage / de facto relationship;

(h)          date of birth;

(i)            identification documentation;

(j)            number and gender of dependent children; and

(k)           your photos and images.

2.  PURPOSE OF COLLECTION

We collect your personal information in order to:

(a)          to perform our charitable functions and activities;

(b)          to identify and communicate with you, and to provide you with information and support;

(c)           to process payments when you make a donation or purchase products via our website;

(d)          to verify the legitimate ownership of credit card information to avoid credit card fraud such as bot or test donations;

(e)          to enable you to access and use our website, and to improve and optimise our website and user experience;

(f)            to send marketing and promotional messages to you and other information that has been requested or which may be of interest;

(g)          to respond to any queries or complaints you have made;

(h)          to comply with our legal obligations; and

(i)            to assist government and law enforcement agencies or regulators.

3.  CONSEQUENCES IF YOU FAIL TO PROVIDE PERSONAL INFORMATION

If TGL does not have the information required, we may not be able to provide you with the services outlined above or to respond to any queries.

4.  USE AND DISCLOSURE

We will use and disclose your personal information only for the purposes for which the information was collected unless we obtain your consent, or we are specifically permitted to make other uses or disclosures under the Privacy Act.

5.  PRIVACY POLICY

The TGL Policy contains information about how:

(a)          TGL collects, stores, uses and discloses your information;

(b)          you can access and seek correction of your personal information held by TGL; and

(c)           you can complain to TGL about a breach of the Privacy Act and how TGL will deal with such a complaint.

6.  OVERSEAS DISCLOSURE

We may disclose your personal information to certain recipients located outside Australia; for instance, The International Ranger Federation based in the United States and Ebury, our payment services provider, which is based in the United Kingdom.

By consenting to this collection notice, you consent to the disclosure of your personal information to third parties in those countries for the purposes set out in our Privacy Policy, without us having any responsibility or liability for the actions of those persons with regard to the collection and handling of your personal information.

We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your personal information is treated securely and in accordance with our Privacy Policy and any applicable laws, but you acknowledge that where we transfer this personal information overseas there is an increased level of risk to the security of your personal information.

Where such recipients are located overseas, you may have rights to enforce such parties’ compliance with applicable data protection laws, but you may not have recourse against those parties under the Privacy Act in relation to how those parties treat your personal information.

If you do not want us to disclose your information to recipients outside of your country, please do not provide your consent to this collection notice below.
