Mulberry Mongoose is a social enterprise in the South Luangwa Valley of Zambia known for its artistry in transforming brutal poacher’s snare wire into beautiful, handcrafted jewellery. Snare poaching is one of the biggest killers of wildlife in Africa. Snare traps are indiscriminate, painfully maiming and killing wildlife including iconic species such as lion, leopard, and elephant. Thankfully, brave rangers patrol these wild spaces, collect the snare wire, and bring it to the talented local women of Mulberry Mongoose, where it’s turned into something far more beautiful and purposeful. Mulberry Mongoose also invest part of their profits back into local conservation groups.
