World Ranger Day
World Ranger Day is celebrated worldwide each year on July 31st to commemorate Rangers killed or injured in the line of duty and to celebrate the work Rangers do to protect the planet’s natural treasures and cultural heritage.
Let’s pause for a moment to reflect on the courage and sacrifice that Rangers make by honouring Fallen Rangers and standing with Rangers who bravely undertake their roles on the frontline of conservation.
World Ranger Day is an initiative of the International Ranger Federation (IRF) promoted with its official charity, The Thin Green Line Foundation.
How to stand with Rangers on World Ranger Day
- Post on Social Media :Post pictures of yourself, friends and colleagues holding the World Ranger Day sign and pay tribute to our conservation heroes. Share these pictures with the International Ranger Federation facebook and The Thin Green Line facebook social pages using the hashtags #Standwiththerangers #WorldRangerDay.
- Honour Fallen Rangers: Pause for a moment on July 31st to honour those Rangers who have made the ultimate sacrifice protecting our planet’s natural treasures and cultural heritage.
- Raise funds for Ranger projects: At your event or on July 31st, raise funds for the critical work that Rangers do. Raising this funding will equip and train Rangers in the field as well as support the families of Fallen Rangers.
